For the second year running the RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood Initiative has judged the Castle Bromwich graveyard project to be outstanding.
Speaking about the award, Assessor Robin Russell said, “This entry goes from strength to strength. This year the youngsters have not only been maintaining the Cemetery but they have also been involved in the Community Festival which has taken up a lot of their time. They have still managed to do some work keep to on top of their planting. The story behind the graveyard is a wonderful project to tell and get more people interested in helping out. The group is very well supported by local people and organisations and this can be seen on their web site.”
It’s Your Neighbourhood is part of the RHS In Bloom award scheme and judges community initiatives against three criteria – community involvement, environmental responsibility and good gardening practices.
