Samuel Barrett Browning was born on 19th June 1899 in Moseley. His father Samuel was a retired builder and his mother the daughter of a Physician, Surgeon, and Apothecary.

On 10th April 1917 he is listed as starting his medical studies at King Edwards, Birmingham. He married Ann Hanless, a Russian born in Moscow,  in Paris on 26th October 1935.

He served as a Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps attending to the health and well-being of those serving, but his own health was at times lacking.

He died on heart failure following surgery on 18th June 1946.

 

 

He is buried Castle Bromwich Graveyard.
